UK Dementia Care is run by a team of care industry professionals with over 20 years of combined experience in the UK care sector. Our team includes former care home managers, CQC inspectors and healthcare policy advisors who have seen first-hand how difficult it can be for families to find the right dementia care.
We built this site because we believe every family deserves clear, honest and up-to-date information when making one of the most important decisions of their lives.
Our Data
We source our care provider data directly from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator of health and social care in England. Every listing on our site includes the provider's latest CQC rating, inspection history and key findings.
- Weekly updates — We check for new CQC inspections and rating changes every week to keep our data as current as possible.
- Detailed scorecards — Each care provider has a clear scorecard showing their rating across all CQC assessment categories.
- Plain-English summaries — We translate inspection reports into clear, jargon-free language so families can make informed decisions.

How We Source and Review Data
All listings and ratings come directly from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), under the Open Government Licence v3.0. We never create, estimate or guess a home's rating. Our process:
- Weekly data refresh — listings and inspection outcomes are pulled from official CQC records every week.
- Named review — every guide is written or reviewed by a named team member and carries a review date.
- Independent listings — care homes cannot pay for inclusion, placement or rating changes.
