UK Dementia Care is a directory and information resource for families choosing dementia care in England. Because our content helps readers make significant, personal decisions, we hold ourselves to clear editorial standards. This page explains where our information comes from, how it is reviewed, and how errors are corrected.

1. Data Sources

All care home listings, ratings and inspection data on this site are sourced from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator of health and social care in England. CQC data is published under the Open Government Licence v3.0. We reference the same licence in our site footer.

• Ratings shown reflect the CQC's most recent published inspection outcome.
• Directory listings are refreshed from official CQC records on a weekly basis.
• Where a home has not yet been inspected, it is clearly marked and never given a rating.

2. Who Writes Our Content

Our guides and resources are written and reviewed by members of our editorial team with professional experience in the care sector, including qualified nursing and care management backgrounds. Author names and credentials are shown on every guide. See About Us for the full team.

3. Independence and Advertising

• Care homes do not pay for inclusion in our listings, and payment never influences placement, ratings or reviews.
• This site is funded by advertising. Adverts are clearly separated from editorial content and are not allowed to influence what we publish.
• We do not accept sponsored posts presented as independent guidance.

4. Review and Updates

Every guide displays the date it was last reviewed. When CQC guidance, legislation or NHS recommendations change, affected pages are updated and re-dated. Significant updates are noted at the top of the page.

5. Corrections

If you spot an error — in a listing, a rating, or a guide — please tell us and we will correct it promptly. Verified corrections are applied within five working days. Contact us at corrections@ukdementiacare.site or via our contact page.
